2018 First Run Organic Maple Syrup

Average: 5 (1 vote)
1 customer review

Organic maple syrup fresh from the 2018 sugaring season.  So far, we only have this in the Amber Rich grade (which is a bit unusual...usually we get some Golden Delicate out of the early runs, but not this year, so far.)  Available in quarts and half gallons only.

This Florida born family, and 28 year residents of WashingtonDC, loves, loves, loves maple syrup. Not just any maple syrup, however. Specifically Hidden Springs maple syrup! I never allow our stock to run out.

Is there any first run syrup that is not organic. Organic is not possible with the same trees and soil. There is no such thing as new dirt.

Response from Peter Cooper-Ellis: Hi Erwin, Sorry, we have not yet received in any non-organic certified (AKA natural) syrup. Our farm is organic certified and we often get in syrup from our farm before it comes in from other farms. While you are correct that the maples all grow in the same dirt, there are differences in how organic certified sugar bushes are managed versus non-organic certified bushes. If you want more information about the differences between natural and organic syrup see the about organic maple syrup section on the About Our Syrup page on our web site at https://www.hiddenspringsmaple.com/about-syrup. Note that we do not charge a premium for organic certification on our web site - natural and organic syrup are the same price. Regards, Peter
